Disabled

First Direct Taxis is Christchurch's leading specialist in transporting disabled people. We have one of the largest fleets of wheelchair accessible taxis in Australasia. Most of our wheelchair vehicles are Ford Transit or Toyota Hi-Ace vans with rear access hoists that can carry up to four chairs. We also use Toyota Estima Welcabs which kneel with a drop-down ramp. This allows a single wheelchair passenger to sit next to four friends and family members. The Welcabs are popular vehicles for outings and sightseeing tours.

All our wheelchair vehicle drivers are NZQA accredited in transporting wheelchair passengers. They and many other First Direct drivers are also NZQA accredited in transporting people with other physical disabilities and intellectual disabilities.

We accept Total Mobility discount vouchers. If you are unable to easily access public transport due to a disability or illness, you may be entitled to use these vouchers. Contact us for more details.

School Transport

We have the biggest fleet of minivans in Christchurch, perfect for smaller school outings, such as senior classes on sports trips or work experience. We can do multiple pick-ups too if require.
